The new bike skills course will feature a sculpture designed and built by Juxtaposition Arts' Youth Design Team
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce that construction begins this July on the new playground and other improvements at Hall Park.
As shown in the concept plan for the project, this current phase of improvements includes:
- Bikeable sculpture for the bicycle skills course, designed and built by Juxtaposition Arts' Youth Design team
- Bicycle skills course: Rough grading, new paths and trail head
- New west side playground equipment, surfacing, concrete curb and surrounding paths
- New site furnishings
- New lighting
- Site landscaping, screening for the playground and general restoration work
Construction work is expected to last at least two to three months. During this time, the playground on the park's west side will be closed. Access via paths to the tot lot on the west side will also be limited. Please keep everyone safe and stay out of fenced construction areas.
Nearby playgrounds to visit during construction:
Lovell Square
Bethune Park
Harrison Park
MPRB will send an update as the start date for construction approaches.
Thanks for your patience and support as MPRB works to improve Minneapolis parks.
