The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce that construction begins in late May on the project bringing a new wading pool and other improvements to Jordan Park.
As shown in the project's concept plan, the improvements include:
- New zero-depth (accessible) entry wading pool with splash features
- Restroom building that includes a storage and mechanical systems room
- Pool fencing
- New lighting, benches, shade structure and drinking fountain
- Upgrades to lighting throughout the park
- Landscaping around pool and restroom building
- Accessible paths

Public impacts
- Project construction timeline is late May 2023 - Spring 2024
- During construction, the pool area, drinking fountain and sand volleyball court will be closed (the court will be restored when the project is complete)
- Please keep everyone safe and stay out of fenced construction areas.
- Nearby wading pools will be available at Cleveland Park and Farview Park when the season begins; check the Pools & Splash Pads Status Map later this spring for seasonal updates on facilities throughout the Minneapolis park system

Improvements at Jordan Park are funded by the 20-Year Neighborhood Park Plan, a historic 2016 agreement between MPRB and the City of Minneapolis. NPP20 helps address racial and economic equity across 160+ neighborhood parks and provides more than $11 million annually to maintain, repair and replace facilities.
