Drop-in Canoeing

FREE drop-in canoeing continues through August 24

Explore the City of Lakes from Loring Pond and a new location: Wirth Lake!

Loring drop-in canoeing

Join naturalists from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to explore the waters of Loring Pond or Wirth Lake.

Look for wildlife and hear about the history of urban waterways and the water quality issues that affect them. (Note: Due to poor water quality at Powderhorn Lake, drop-in canoeing at that location has unfortunately been cancelled.)

Learn paddling techniques and safety tips from trained naturalist guides, then explore the water with friends, family and neighbors at your own pace.

Drop-in canoeing opportunities are available twice weekly
