Beaches closing today

Five beaches at three Minneapolis lakes are closing today because water quality tests show elevated bacteria levels in the lakes, due to a combination of rainfall and seasonal bird migration. The following locations are closing or will remain closed:

 

Monday, September 7: End of beach season, last day for wading pools

At the other beaches in the park system, lifeguards will be on duty through the Labor Day holiday (Monday, September 7). After the holiday, swimming docks and buoys will be removed. 

Wading Pools remain open through Monday. Note that pool-area capacity is reduced at each location to allow for social distancing and restrooms are open from noon to 6:30 pm. Find out which pools are currently open:
