Drop in for free canoeing this summer at Loring Pond and Powderhorn Lake

Get a fresh view of the City of Lakes - from a canoe!

What's it all about?

  • Learn paddling techniques and safety tips from our trained Naturalist guides, then explore the water at your own pace.

  • Look for wildlife and learn the history and water quality issues affecting our urban waterways.

  • Canoes, life vests and paddles are provided.

Who can go?

  • Everyone ages 2 and older is welcome.

  • Children ages 12 and younger should have a parent or guardian present.

  • Bring your friends, family and neighbors!

When and where?

Mondays, 5pm to 7pm at Loring Pond (south shore - nearest W. 15th St.) - through August 19 

 

Tuesdays, 5pm to 7pm at Powderhorn Lake (south shore - nearest 35th St.) - through August 13

Just show up! No registration necessary.

Learn to fish using equipment and guidance from our partner, L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Programs. Pop-up fishing is as easy as drop-in canoeing: Just show up! No registration needed.

Note: Adults who want to fish (rather than just help a child) need to bring a valid fishing license per local/state regulations.
