Featuring two pools, the center offers year-round indoor swimming, with programs and lessons for all ages, abilities.
Last Saturday, the Phillips community joined the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and a host of supporters for the grand opening of the Phillips Aquatics Center.
This week, swimming lessons begin with a four-week session, along with a range of drop-in programs at both of the facility's pools. These include public swim and family swim, water walking and lap swim, water fitness classes and a weekly women-and-girls swim session. Check out the full schedule on the MPRB website. While lessons for the spring session are
almost full, information on the summer session, beginning in June, will be available next
month.

Funders, partners, community members and other supporters joined MPRB officials at Saturday's ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the 6-lane pool.
About the Phillips Aquatics Center
Located inside the Phillips Community Center, at 2323 11th Ave. S., aquatics center features include:
- A welcome desk where visitors check in, get information, sign up for classes and more
- A renovated six-lane pool can accommodate swim competitions and features a spectator area.
- A new four-lane pool is geared to swim instruction, with four lanes and zero-depth accessibility.
