A church that hosts the weekly Northeast Minneapolis Farmerโs Market will be getting a green makeover with help from an MWMO grant.
The MWMO awarded a $260,000 grant to St. Boniface Church to rehabilitate their northeast Minneapolis campus with green stormwater infrastructure, including a series of connected rain gardens and bioswales.
By the Numbers:
- 6,400 square feet of new native vegetation
- 80 percent of the siteโs stormwater runoff will be captured and treated
- 55 new trees added
- 324 pounds of sediment kept out of the Mississippi River annually

The MWMOโs Annual Activity and Financial Report for 2023 is now available. The report provides a snapshot of our progress in meeting our mission, goals and objectives for the previous year, along with a preview of our 2024 work plan.
