A fun and dynamic summer internship program awaits you at the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary. This program is for youth ages 16-18 who are interested in exploring green careers in environmental education, horticulture (gardening), and natural resources management.
Teen interns at the Wildflower Garden will assist staff in the field, on the trails, and in the Visitors Shelter in a variety of ways. A significant amount of time will be spent assisting Wildflower Garden staff with environmental education programs for youth ages 9-12.
The MPCA is hiring a part time summer student worker
(college or graduate level) to assist with community
engagement activities and support MPCA's environmental justice

The position will support the Agency's Environmental Justice
program, working to assist efforts in implementing the EJ framework across
Agency programs, and support and advance external engagement efforts focused on
EJ communities. Duties will include: assembling/maintaining EJ-relevant tools
and resources to assist program staff in developing community involvement plans
(e.g., community and advocacy organization information sheets,
community-based media lists, materials for internal
communication/training/translation and interpretation resources, etc.);
supporting the coordination of EJ Advisory Group meetings and other
programs/trainings/events; assisting in the development of media messages, fact
sheets, and other communication materials. Position may also attend community
environmental events, and coordinate other staff to attend, to show an MPCA
presence.
The position is envisioned as a 20 hour/week position beginning
in July, ending in early September; we may adjust hours (fewer weekly hours for
a longer duration) as appropriate. Pay range starts at $14.15/hr.
