Apprentices work alongside Urban Boatbuilders instructors learning technical boat building skills while earning money. Once the boats are finished, apprentices get to enjoy their hard work by launching and paddling them in nearby lakes. In the spring and fall apprentices go on a canoe and camping trip on a nearby river, and in August they go on a five-day trip to the Boundary Waters with homemade boats and paddles in tow.
Enjoy and take leadership roles during a 4-H day camp experience filled with
exciting hands-on activities and group challenges. You will learn how to best
lead day campers in games, investigating nature, creating art and crafts, and
exploring STEM. You will also take part in at least one field trip each week, such
as canoeing or a nature hike and an educational field trip to a city landmark,
such as a museum. This summer experience is a unique opportunity to learn
new things, step into leadership roles, and spend part of your summer having
fun while serving youth! Camp Counselors will by supported by adult Camp
Directors and 4-H Staff.
