Work on transportation projects? Join us for an in-person workshop about community considerations

Join the Metropolitan Council for a workshop about the criteria and measures related to community considerations in the process to allocate transportation funding. This workshop will support best practices in community-centered transportation projects across the Twin Cities region.

When: Monday, March 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Wilder Foundation, 451 Lexington Parkway N., St. Paul.

Lunch will be provided.

This workshop is intended for anyone who plays a role in developing and implementing transportation projects, including:

  • City, county, transit, and state transportation agency staff who have a role in project development, community engagement, implementation, or decision-making.
  • Government agency staff preparing an application for the Regional Solicitation.
  • Community organization representatives and government agency staff scoring applications.

Learn more about the Regional Solicitation process.

Participants will:

  • Build a shared understanding of key community-centered transportation project concepts.
  • Explore challenges and strategies for centering community in transportation projects.
  • Prepare for how community considerations will be understood and discussed in the Regional Solicitation process.

This workshop provides context and learning for the new community considerations criterion and measures in the upcoming Regional Solicitation, but it is not a step-by-step training on applying or scoring. An online information session will be held later to cover application details.

Space is limited! Register for the workshop by Wednesday, March 25.
