Beginning Tuesday, October 14, up to six light rail vehicles are planned to be transported from Target Field Station in Minneapolis to SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie for the purpose of systems testing between Eden Prairie and St. Louis Park. The light rail test trains are expected to depart from the Target Field Station area. The test trains will initially be towed through the corridor by a rail car mover.
We are excited to enter this new phase of the project. We want the public to stay safe as the light rail corridor becomes active with moving test trains. Community members are welcome to safely observe this milestone from publicly accessible places. Remember to obey warning systems and personnel and stay away from the tracks except at designated crossing areas. Be aware that test trains can move in both directions and use either track.
