Adds specifics related to two transitway projects
The Metropolitan Council is taking public comments on amending the 2050 Transportation Policy Plan in the Imagine 2050 Regional Development Guide to update and add two significant regional transitway projects.
Regionally significant transitway projects
This amendment adds elements of these transit projects to the policy plan.
- The amendment proposes to update the METRO Blue Line Extension route alignment in the plan. The updated route includes 13 stations along 13.4 miles from Target Field station in downtown Minneapolis through north Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Crystal, and Brooklyn Park.
- The amendment proposes to add the METRO Gold Line Extension project from downtown St. Paul to downtown Minneapolis, generally aligned along I-94, to the plan.
Public hearing
The Met Council has scheduled an in-person public hearing for 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the beginning of the regular Metropolitan Council meeting at 390 North Robert Street, St. Paul.

We will receive comments on the DRAFT 2050 Transportation Policy Plan Amendment #1 through 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The full Met Council will review the public comments and consider the amendment following the public comment period.
