May 1: Ruth Street bridge will close between Old Hudson Road and Suburban Avenue.

2023 Construction Overview
Downtown St. Paul highlights
Upcoming:
- Starting early May, expect construction activities on the north side of 6th Street and the south side of 5th Street between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street in Downtown St. Paul. Crews will be relocating utilities and building platform foundations.
Traffic Impacts:
- Expect temporary sidewalk walkways to remain on 6th Street between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street until civil construction begins.
East St. Paul highlights
Upcoming: Road closure
- Starting Monday, May 1, Ruth Street closes over I-94 and the westbound I-94 entrance ramp at Ruth Street closes. Site preparations in the Ruth Street area begin next week ahead of the closure. The closure will continue through fall 2023. Follow the posted detour route along Old Hudson Road, White Bear Avenue, and Suburban Avenue.
- Installation of the clay liner at the stormwater pond area near the intersection of Griffith Street and Johnson Parkway is on hold until the ground conditions are dry enough for heavy machinery.

Traffic Impacts:
- The eastern half of Hudson Road between Cypress Street and Earl Street is closed for the next few weeks, including the Earl Street and Hudson Road intersection.
- Earl Street is closed over I-94 between Hudson Road and Pacific Street. The closure continues until early summer 2023. Follow the posted detour route along Burns Avenue, Johnson Parkway, and 3rd Street.
- Westbound I-94 shoulder closed and temporary ramp shift at Etna St.
- Westbound I-94 right lane and shoulder closed between Highway 61 and Mounds Boulevard. This closure continues through fall 2023.

Ongoing:
- At Earl Street and Hudson Road in east St. Paul, crews will strip topsoil, excavate and construct retaining walls, install storm and sanitary sewers, and continue work on the Earl Street bridge.
- Crews continue building a new bridge near the Etna Station site.
- Crews continue to remove sections of noise wall, guardrail, and light poles along Hudson Road between Mounds Boulevard and Maple Street in St. Paul.
- Retaining wall construction continues at Mounds Boulevard and 3rd Street in St. Paul.

Maplewood/Landfall/Oakdale highlights
Ongoing:
- Private utility relocation work continues along 4th Street in Oakdale.
- Construction continues for the future BRT roadway, bridge abutments, and private utility work near the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange area.
- Crews continue underground utility construction in Oakdale.

- Crews continue work in the I-94 center median between the I-494/I-694 interchange and Radio Drive, pouring concrete for bridge foundations, pile driving, and constructing bridge abutments at the north side of I-94.

Woodbury highlights
Upcoming:
- Starting the morning of Sunday, April 23, Bielenberg Drive between Hudson Road and Guider Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction on the east side.
Traffic Impacts:
- The Hudson Road and Bielenberg Drive intersection is closed. Follow the posted detour route on Tamarack Road and Radio Drive.
- Expect median shoulder closures on eastbound and westbound I-94 between the I-494/I-694 interchange and Radio Drive through

- Crews continue to construct a new Bielenberg Drive bridge in the I-94 center median between the I-494/I-694 interchange and Radio Drive.
- Private utility relocation work continues along Bielenberg Drive in Woodbury.
- Expect weekday sidewalk closures on the east side of Bielenberg Drive near Tamarack Road over the next few weeks in Woodbury.
- Crews construct a new retaining wall on the east side of Bielenberg Drive, north of Tamarack Road in Woodbury and on the west side of Bielenberg Drive at the north end of the roadway near Hudson Road.
