After finalizing the design, METRO Gold Line began sharing what the new stations will look like. As the Station Spotlight Series continues, you will learn about:

Station locations:

Mounds Station: At the intersection of Mounds Boulevard and Kellogg Boulevard
- 4,838 people live within one-half mile of the Mounds Boulevard Station Area; 17% of households in the station area rely on transit.

Earl Station: At the intersection of Earl Street and Hudson Road
- 5,931 people live within one-half mile of the Earl Street Station Area; 18% of households in the station area rely on transit.

Etna Station: At the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Etna Street
- 10,410 people live within one-half mile of the Etna Street Station Area; 16% of households in the station area rely on transit.
Station highlights: East Metro stations will provide Gold Line customers with connections to retail businesses, educational institutions, greenspace, and residential areas.
- 21,922 jobs within one-half mile of the station areas
- Major destinations: Metro State University, Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary, Indian Mounds Regional Park, Dayton’s Bluff Recreation Center, Harding High School
- New walk-up stations, added bicycle parking, the reconstruction of a section of Mounds Boulevard Bridge to accommodate the new bus rapid transit lanes
- New bridge at the Etna Street Station area
- Proximity to nearby bus routes: Route 63 and Route 70

Since January 2022, the Gold Line project has reached several milestones in transitioning from design to construction. Gold Line’s 2022 milestones include the following:
- Completing final designs, including route, station location, and shelter designs for the Gold Line project after four years of refining and collecting community input.
- Hosting a meet and greet for disadvantaged business enterprises to learn about contracting opportunities for the Gold Line project.
- Selection of a contractor through the bidding process for Gold Line construction.
- Gold Line Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of construction.
- Starting construction of two new bridges: one is connecting Oakdale and Woodbury across I-94, and one is in East St. Paul near the I-94/Hwy. 61 interchange.
- Three open houses throughout project communities.
- Engaging more than 400 community members across the project corridor at public events.
The Gold Line project will continue construction and engagement work in 2023. Activities you can expect in 2023 include:
- Ongoing community engagement throughout the Gold Line corridor.
- Open houses in late winter to inform about upcoming construction work and expected impacts.
- Construction activities will continue through 2024, ramping up in the late winter/early spring 2023 as weather allows.
- Construction of the new Bielenberg Bridge is expected to be completed near the end of 2023.
