Construction site preparations continue in East St. Paul and Woodbury, and utility construction is occurring in downtown St. Paul.
Site preparations include:

Marking the construction boundaries and underground utilities

Installing sediment and erosion control barriers that prevent dirt and debris from entering stormwater sewers

Removing brush, trees, and topsoil
Downtown St. Paul highlights

Expect lane restrictions and a sidewalk closure on 6th Street E. between Cedar Street and Minnesota Street for utility construction. Follow posted detour route. Pavement removal work will be conducted on the north side of the roadway near the 6th Street & Minnesota Street Station site. After pavement removals, District Energy will begin utility relocation.
East St. Paul/Maplewood highlights
Upcoming:
- Crews begin site preparations by installing erosion controls, removing fencing, and clearing trees north of I-94 between Johnson Parkway and the Etna Street Station site.
Woodbury/Oakdale highlights
Ongoing:
- Continued brush and tree removals in the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange area including along Bielenberg Dr. from Hudson Road to Guilder Dr. as crews prepare for upcoming pavement removals, excavations, and private utility construction.
- Brush and tree removals are underway north of I-94 and east of I-694 along Fourth St. N and Helmo Ave. N.
- Crews will be clearing brush and removing trees on the east side of Bielenberg Dr. and will need to close the northbound shoulder to complete the work.
- Xcel Energy utility work continues on the west side of Century Ave. One traffic lane is closed.
Upcoming:
- Expect pond construction and preparations for bridge work at Bielenberg Dr. and Helmo Ave. near I-94 in early October.
Construction look ahead (upcoming weeks):
- Excavation and grading along Bielenberg Dr. between I-94 and Guider Dr. in Woodbury.
