Now that employees have entered their 2022 performance goals, managers should be reviewing, editing where necessary, and approving goals for the year.
Managers approving goals is the second step in the perform system and is due on Tuesday, March 1. Once the managers approve goals, the employee needs to review any updates and sign off on their finalized performance goals. This step is due by Saturday, March 5.
Ready – Employee adds performance goals into Perform (due February).
Set – Managers approve goals (due March 1) and employee signs off (due March 5).
Go – Employee and manager can now enter journal entries throughout the year.
After both steps above are completed, the performance evaluation form for each direct report will be available in Perform and can be found on the manager’s dashboard as a "Rating" task type. This allows the manager to add comments to each goal and competency throughout the year, building the evaluation as the year progresses and reducing the time needed to complete the year-end review. Employees and managers can add journal entries any time during the year to document information and to use in the final review.
For help putting information into the performance evaluation and creating journal entries, check out these resources available on the Performance Management page on MetNet:

The Met Council is offering 84 internship positions for the 2022 internship program, and the deadline for applications is Monday, Feb. 28.
Human Resources staff hosted three info sessions last week for potential applicants to learn more about our internship opportunities, hear from current and past interns, and receive tips on how to fill out an application with the Met Council.
If you know someone who might be interested in applying for a Met Council internship, please direct them to our Internships webpage to learn more, watch a recording of the info session, and complete their application.
Please email the internship team at Internships@metc.state.mn.us if you have questions.
Here’s a reminder that the Met Council’s HR 7-3a Telework Procedure indicates that the telework location may not be outside of the United States. This includes ad hoc telework performed on an occasional or irregular basis – think vacation or visiting relatives. Regardless of telework status, employees are required to inform their manager if they are planning to conduct any work from outside the United States or from a location other than Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Cybersecurity is our major concern. Electronic equipment containing or transmitting Met Council information is at risk of being stolen while traveling in public places such as airports, hotels, and restaurants. Public Wi-Fi networks may not be secure and electronic devices are vulnerable to malware and password theft leaving our Met Council systems vulnerable to attack. It is acceptable to securely check email on personal phones while out of the country. (Overtime-eligible employees need pre-approval from their manager since they would need to log work time for this activity.)
