Mentoring can shine a light on your career – either as a mentor or a mentee – and support your career goals while enhancing your professional life.
For the fifth year, the Met Council is offering the MentoringWorks program. It will be held virtually in 2022 but is still focused on fostering professional development through cross-division relationships and the transfer of knowledge and skills. One past participant said, "The best part of my mentoring relationship is the fact that I have gained a trustworthy supporter, a confidant, an advocate, and an ally." Mental health and well-being are crucial to overall health.
As we approach the start of the pandemic’s third year, it is even more important for Minnesotans to take time to focus on mental well-being. Connection is one of the most important things for our mental well-being, but staying connected during the pandemic has been one of the greatest challenges.
Over the next four weeks, Fit For Life will feature messages from the Minnesota Department of Health’s #StayConnectedMN campaign that focus on the importance of staying connected to ourselves, friends, neighbors, and loved ones – and building community to survive and thrive despite the pandemic.
Week 1: Build casual connections
Week 2: Foster closer connections
Week 3: Create community
Week 4: Know how to find help and support
We know that connection is not the only factor impacting mental health. Please know that free counseling services are available through our employee assistance program, Sand Creek. For more information call Sand Creek at 1-888-243-5744 or visit SandCreekEAP.com (use company code "metcouncil" to access online resources).
