Have some fun with an extra $600!

Human Resources and Bus Transportation are hosting two hiring events for full-time bus operators this month. Tell your neighbors and friends about this opportunity. There is a $1,000 hiring bonus for new operators and a $600 employee referral bonus.

 

Candidates can apply online prior to the event and interview on Wednesday or Saturday. They can also apply and interview at the event on either day. Assistance will be available onsite for anyone who needs help completing an application online.

With more than 30 virtual, instructor-led classes offered in the first half of 2022, Learning and Organization Development can support your professional development goals.

 

Classes in the Management (PDF)Preparing for Supervision (PDF), and Personal Effectiveness (PDF) certificates are open for enrollment. Take classes individually or as part of a certificate.

 

There are 10 Career Enrichment (PDF) classes, some of which are new offerings. Enroll in one of our next two offerings:

  • Jan. 25, open to those with direct reports: Still Remote: Supervising & Staying Connected with Your Virtual Teams. In this class managers will identify ways to manage off-site employees’ results, rather than their day-to-day activities, and gain tips to facilitate meetings that engage and direct staff using brain-based strategies.  
  • Jan. 26, open to everyone: Still Remote: Staying Successful in a Remote Work Environment. This class will help employees understand the common challenges to being productive in remote work environments and identify strategies to combat pitfalls, improve efficiency, and increase effectiveness.

Preparing Perform for 2022

Human Resources is busy preparing the Perform system for 2022.

 

We are currently soliciting feedback on your experience, which we will use to configure the system and update resource materials.

 

We intend to have Perform available to start entering goals by the end of January. Please watch HR Connect for further details.

Am I Hungry? Eight-week intuitive eating program with Rebecca Johnson of Vidl Solutions 

People are discovering many new triggers for eating right now. Do you struggle with stress, boredom, loneliness, comfort eating, or scarcity? You are not alone! Learn a non-diet, mindful approach to decision-making. 

 

Wednesdays, March 2 through April 20

Nutrition questions answered by email 

Do you have a quick question around your eating, meal planning, situation, or are you just not sure where to start? Email ​Ask@WeightAndWellness.com with your personal nutrition questions. All emails will be responded to by a nutritionist within 48 hours. Read the program flyer for more information (PDF). 

 

Nutrition consultations with a Registered Dietician 

You get three 30-minute phone consultations with a registered dietician by phone or virtual appointment. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday, daytime and evenings.  Read the program flyer for more information (PDF). 

 


Parenting, working, and staying resilient through it all

Parenting and caregiving do not stop when we walk into the workplace. It's not something we can turn off, and that is why Fit For Life is here to give you tools and resources to manage the stress and worry that come with being a parent or primary caregiver to a child, teen, or young adult.

Child sleep coaching for parents of infants to 7-year-olds 

Common reasons parents seek coaching include your child has difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep without your help, has short or refused naps, does not want to sleep in a crib or their own bed, is transitioning from a crib to a bed, and more. 

 

To schedule your sleep support call with Leann Latus at Tender Transitions, visit this link for Met Council employees and select the "Spot Check Met Council" option. 

 

Your first call will be approximately 20 minutes. If additional coaching is needed, Fit For Life will cover the cost. Watch this short intro video to meet Leann and learn more.
