If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to complete the Met Council's Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey. The deadline for the survey has been extended to Jan. 7.
All responses are anonymous and will help our leaders understand what employees are experiencing in the workplace and identify tangible and deliberate changes we can make to improve our organization.
Do not submit complaints to the survey that require immediate action. Please report those issues through EthicsPoint or discuss with your manager.
Employees with limited or no access to work-based email accounts have the option of completing the survey on their mobile device via a QR code posted onsite at most Met Council facilities or completing a paper survey, copies of which were distributed to certain Metro Transit sites. If you would like more flyers with the QR code to post onsite, download and print this PDF (size 8.5" x 11"). If you need additional paper surveys, email Paula.Crane@metc.state.mn.us. Please do not make copies.

And their careers grow in response
To be as effective as possible and able to take on bigger, more significant challenges, managers need to invest in themselves.
A great place to start in 2022 is through the Management Certificate program. Building skills in areas such as leading change, building teams, problem solving, continuous improvement, or building diversity pay dividends in the form of more effective, productive, inclusive, and motivated work groups – as well as career growth.
Plan now to develop your skills by enrolling in the certificate program as a whole or in specific classes individually. All classes are conducted virtually.
The first management class is Transformational Leadership on Jan. 19. For more information, view the list of Management Certificate classes (PDF) and enroll now on Learn.

Being a mentor or mentee can support our career goals and enhance our professional lives. According to one past participant, “MentoringWorks was an invaluable part of my development journey.”
For the fifth year, the Met Council is offering the MentoringWorks program. It will be held virtually in 2022 but is still focused on fostering professional development through cross-division relationships and transfer of knowledge and skills.
To learn more about the program and how participation can help you achieve your career objectives, join a virtual information session next month.

As we start the new year and look forward with setting intentions for ourselves, we may be uncovering areas that have kept us feeling stuck. Fit For Life is pleased to offer a new group program with Susan Shehata and Colleen Buckman to support exploring intentions and ideas.
Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach is a 30-day interactive program that guides participants through a deeper process of understanding the root causes of conflict, such as core beliefs, unmet needs, emotional and physiological trauma patterns, cognitive biases, and differing communication styles.
Participants will practice building skills to help them identify needs, communicate more clearly and effectively, and set needed boundaries.
The program consists of four weekly live sessions, plus daily access to the coaches for questions and accountability. The live sessions are recorded for replay for the participants only.
Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach Wednesdays, Jan. 5 through Jan. 26 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Online
HealthPartners is continuing their additional online health programming, including the annual health assessment.
The online assessment poses questions about nutrition, exercise, emotional health, life satisfaction, and sleep. This is a great opportunity to check in with yourself and receive specific HealthPartners program recommendations based on your results, like Wellbeats on-demand classes and other programs to track your health habits.
The health assessment and HealthPartners programming are available for employees who have HealthPartners medical or dental coverage through the Met Council. A $40 gift card (subject to tax) will be provided to those who complete their assessment between Jan. 1 and May 31. The other HealthPartners programs are available throughout the year, and you don’t need to take the health assessment to participate.
To complete the assessment and access HealthPartners programs, visit HealthPartners.com/wellbeing and log in with your HealthPartners account.
