Complete the engagement survey by Dec. 31

All employees are invited to complete the Met Council's Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey. The survey can be completed in 5-10 minutes, and all responses are anonymous.

Take the survey by Dec. 31.

Human Resources is also planning focus group conversations following the survey to learn more from employees. Results will be shared back with staff early next year, along with specific steps that we will take in response to the survey and focus group findings.

Questions about the Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey can be directed to Paula Crane in Human Resources at Paula.Crane@metc.state.mn.us.

Do not submit complaints to the survey that require immediate action. Please report those issues through EthicsPoint or discuss with your manager.

Employees with limited or no access to work-based email accounts have the option of completing the survey on their mobile device via a QR code posted onsite or completing a paper survey, copies of which have been distributed to certain Metro Transit sites. (If you need additional paper surveys, email Paula.Crane@metc.state.mn.us. Please do not make copies.)

Flexible Spending Account reminders

TASC logo

The Met Council's Flexible Spending Account (FSA) administrator is switching from HeathPartners to Total Administrative Services Corporation (TASC) on Jan. 1.

Here are some important reminders to smooth the transition:

  • The HealthPartners debit card will only be used for Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) starting Jan. 1. The FSA function of the card ends on Dec. 31. Use up your funds before then if possible; this will help eliminate confusion around managing your old FSA with HealthPartners and your new FSA with TASC in the new year.
  • If you enrolled in an FSA for 2022, you will receive a new debit card from TASC in the next couple weeks. You will also receive an email with information on using the mobile app and logging into the TASC website.
  • If you are new to the FSA or would like a review, read through the presentation on FSA basics.

Finally, if you have any final claims from 2021 to pay in 2022, remember these claim deadlines and rollover rules:

  • Health FSA – Any balance under $550 from your 2021 health FSA will roll over to TASC for your 2022 FSA. This will happen in April after the claims filing deadline of March 31.
  • Parking FSA – Any 2021 parking FSA balance will roll over in February after the claims filing deadline of Jan. 31.
  • Daycare FSA – Funds in the dependent care FSA do not roll over. The claims filing deadline is March 31.

Self-care group series brought to you by Fit For Life

Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach

As we start the new year and look forward with setting intentions for ourselves, we may be uncovering areas that have kept us feeling stuck. Fit For Life is pleased to offer a new group program with Susan Shehata and Colleen Buckman to support exploring these intentions and ideas.

Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach is a 30-day interactive program that guides participants through a deeper process of understanding the root causes of conflict, such as core beliefs, unmet needs, emotional and physiological trauma patterns, cognitive biases, and differing communication styles. Participants will practice building skills to help them identify needs, communicate more clearly and effectively, and set needed boundaries.

The program consists of four weekly, live sessions plus daily access to the coaches for questions and accountability. The live sessions are recorded for replay for the participants only.

The program will run online Wednesdays, Jan. 5 through Jan. 26, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Email FitForLife@metc.state.mn.us to sign up. Space is limited to 25 seats.
