Managers and supervisors should be wrapping up employee performance discussions by Dec. 6, which will allow employees time to submit their acknowledgement of the final evaluation by Dec. 11.
After completing the performance discussion, the manager needs to mark the task as completed in Perform, which will prompt the employee to acknowledge receipt of it.
Performance management resources are available on MetNet, such as:
If you know that a performance evaluation will be delayed (for example, due to a leave of absence or extended probation), please email Todd Rowley at Todd.Rowley@metc.state.mn.us with related details.
Have you received a new Benny card from HealthPartners recently?
The Benny card, like any credit card, has an expiration date, and for many employees that date is December 2021. Cards are automatically reissued when they expire, which is why many of you have received new cards from HealthPartners.
Check the expiration date on your current Benny card, and if it has expired you should have received a replacement card from HealthPartners. The new card will be your HRA card in 2022, so don’t throw it away.
HRA and FSA will use different cards in 2022
If you currently have a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), the new card from HealthPartners will continue to be used for your HRA in 2022.
If you currently have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may use the new Benny card for December 2021 FSA expenses only. You will receive a card from TASC, the Met Council's new FSA administrator, for 2022 expenses. Watch for that card in the mail in mid- to late December.
If you are participating in both HRA and FSA this next year, you will have two cards in 2022: one from HealthPartners (for HRA) and one from TASC (for FSA). Having two cards will mean you as the consumer will decide which account to use first when paying for expenses.

Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach
As we start the new year and look forward with setting intentions for ourselves, we may be uncovering areas that have kept us feeling stuck. Fit For Life is pleased to offer a new group program with Susan Shehata and Colleen Buckman to support exploring these intentions and ideas.
Healthy Conflict and Communication: A Holistic Approach is a 30-day interactive program that guides participants through a deeper process of understanding the root causes of conflict, such as core beliefs, unmet needs, emotional and physiological trauma patterns, cognitive biases, and differing communication styles. Participants will practice building skills to help them identify needs, communicate more clearly and effectively, and set needed boundaries.
The program consists of four weekly, live sessions plus daily access to the coaches for questions and accountability. The live sessions are recorded for replay for the participants only.
The program will run online Wednesdays, Jan. 5 through Jan. 26, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Email FitForLife@metc.state.mn.us to sign up. Space is limited to 25 seats.

If you haven’t looked at your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) balances for awhile, now is the time to do so. If you have no planned expenses for the remainder of the year, you can still spend down your account.
Review the FSA eligible expenses document (PDF) on MetNet. There are several items your FSA can be used for if you wish to spend down your account.
Brief reminder regarding rollover of funds:
- Health FSA – Any balance under $550 from your 2021 health FSA will roll over to TASC for your 2022 FSA. This will happen in April after the claims filing deadline of March 31.
- Parking FSA – Any 2021 parking FSA balance will roll over in February after the claims filing deadline of Jan. 31.
-
Daycare FSA – The dependent care FSA does not roll over. Dependent care expenses are also included on the FSA eligible expenses document.
