Remember to complete the Unconscious Bias training

The Unconscious Bias eLearning training kicked off the Councilwide racial equity training efforts and is required for all Met Council employees except bus operators, who will receive this information in a different format. The training opened in February and is due April 22. Employees are receiving regular training reminders from Learn by email.

You can find supplemental resources and training debrief material on the Building Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion page on MetNet.

Disability Management and Accommodation training for leadership

Training sessions for managers and supervisors about the new Disability Management and Accommodation Procedure will continue through April 2. These sessions provide important information about effectively working with employees around disability and reasonable accommodation.

Managers, if you have not received an invitation for your division, or need to attend at a different time, please participate in one of these drop-in sessions:

Please email HR-OccHealth@metc.state.mn.us with questions.

Join the six-week Sustainable Swaps campaign!

Did you know the average American produces about 4.4 pounds of trash a day according to the Environmental Protection Agency? That’s 1,606 pounds of trash per year, per person. By reducing the amount of trash you create, you could keep thousands of pounds of trash from sitting in landfills – small steps make a difference.

If you’re interested in learning more about the steps you can take to live a more sustainable or zero-waste lifestyle, sign up for the six-week Sustainable Swaps campaign! In this campaign, you’ll be introduced to six essential concepts and practices to help you start, or continue, your own journey to a more sustainable life.

By the end of the challenge you will have:

  • Conducted a trash audit
  • Learned how to reduce and reuse
  • Received information on how you can repair items
  • Learned how to rethink going green
  • Started a revolution within your community

Campaign begins April 5 and runs through the week of May 10. Sign up for the challenge by filling out this form or emailing Ashley.Starr@metc.state.mn.us.

Finalize your 2021 roadmap in Perform

As we near the end of the first quarter, performance goals for the year should be established and agreed upon by both the manager and the employee. This task must be completed no later than March 31.

Once the goals tasks are completed, the performance evaluation form for each direct report will be available and can be found on the manager’s dashboard as a "Rating" task. This will allow the manager to add comments and journal entries throughout the year, building the evaluation as the year progresses rather than starting at the very end.

For resources on managing performance, please visit the Performance Management page on MetNet.

For questions and assistance, please email Perform@metc.state.mn.us.

Email reminders: Signature, pronouns, profile photo

Review and update your email signature: Please review and update your email signature by April 1 to make sure you’re using the approved template. The Met Council’s email signature template was recently updated and helps ensure consistency in how employees represent their role with the agency to colleagues, customers, and external constituents. Employees must use the approved email signature templates. You may populate the template with your personal information, but you cannot add or modify elements. Follow these instructions to copy and paste the template in Outlook for your use.

Designate your personal pronouns: The updated email signature template also provides a spot for you to designate your personal pronouns. That section is optional, but we encourage you to use it. Learn more about why pronoun choice is important.

Guidelines for changing your profile photo in Microsoft 365: You can upload a personal photo to your Microsoft 365 profile. Review these photo guidelines on MetNet and follow the instructions for updating your photo in Teams.
