Employees, it’s time to enter goals in Perform!

Now that 2021 performance reviews are live in Perform, it’s time for employees to enter their performance goals for the year. Entering goals is the first process step in the Perform system. Goals should be entered in Perform by Feb. 10, 2021.

As a reminder, performance goals represent the “what” of performance and should cover the primary components of an employee’s annual work plan or key accountabilities. Goals may also include development objectives such as developing and applying competencies, formal training opportunities, certification programs, or leading special projects related to an employee’s position.

To help in the goal-setting process, there are many resources available on the Performance Management page on MetNet. Here are just a few:

Do you have your mind on your money and money on your mind?

In 2020, the American Psychological Association found in their "Stress in America"’ survey that 72% of Americans reported feeling stressed about money within the last month. While financial stress is very real, there are small ways to shift your mindset around money that prove to have big returns.

With all of the different experts out there on money mindset and money management, it can be difficult to know who to trust and where to start. Thankfully, across the various resources and expert opinions, a few key messages stay the same:

  • Focus on what you have, not what you don’t have.
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities and positive possibilities versus looking for challenges and "can’t haves."
  • Learn how to manage your money and don’t fear opening your bank statement or paying attention to your finances.
  • Acknowledge and face your financial fears – these fears often go deeper than money. Take some time to turn inward and explore your story and fear around money.
  • Build wealth and give back.

Fit For Life has two upcoming live, online opportunities to work on your money mindset:

  • Money: An Inside Story with Susan Shehata
    Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Paycheck to Purpose four-week online class with Workplace Money Coach
Wednesdays, March 10 through March 31, noon to 1:00 p.m.

If you want to dive deeper into your own money mindset, check out the book "Money: A Love Story" by Kate Northrup and Forbes article 5 Ways to go from a scarcity to abundance mindsetFollow thought leaders like Marie Forleo and Dave Ramsey to explore different ways of viewing and managing money. Sand Creek, the Council's employee assistance program, also has financial resources (PDF).
