If you visit the MSP Airport Badging Office’s website, and notice that there are appointments available outside of our normal hours, those are legitimate appointments that you can schedule.
To meet demand for badging appointments, we’re expanding hours when we have the capacity. Our regular hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday, and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. If you see other hours available when you’re online, feel free to schedule an appointment in that time slot.
Please pass on word of this change to your employees as they send you security badge applications and prepare for a Badging Office appointment.

Please remind employees with escort privileges (ones who have an E on their badge) that they must stay with individuals they are escorting for the entirety of their visit when post-security or on the airfield.
The Airport Police Department has reported an uptick in escort procedure violations in recent weeks, including finding escorted individuals not under the control or direction of the badged employee performing the escort.
Employees who sign in individuals they are escorting must stay in close proximity to them for the entirety of their time in secure areas of the airport. Violating that rule can lead to penalties that include revocation of an employee’s badge.
Please make sure your employees know the escort procedures found at this web page.
Starting in September, the MAC Facilities Department will begin its annual audit of all regulatory keys, as required by the Transportation Security Administration. All MSP airport personnel who hold these keys are required to participate in the audit.
Facilities is including 14 regulatory keys in this year’s audit. An email will arrive soon with instructions on how to complete your key audit.
Remember that any regulatory keys should be treated the same as an airport security badge – don’t share them and report any lost or stolen keys immediately. When an airport employee separates from employment at the airport, for any reason, employers are responsible for collecting and returning those keys to the Facilities Department.
Please share the key audit information with your employees and ask them to check their email for more information in coming weeks.
