International travel options out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) broadened a bit on April 11 as Delta Air Lines resumed non-stop service to Heathrow Airport near London.

The direct route to the United Kingdom has been a popular offering for more than 30 years, and its return from a pandemic-induced suspension was greeted with a festive event and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at MSP.

Balloons, flags and a wall-sized image of Big Ben were all part of the celebration, with dozens of passengers looking on as officials from Delta and the Metropolitan Airports Commission welcomed back the London service on Concourse G.

MSP continues to add back flights, including seasonal routes for summer travel. Visit MSP’s interactive direct route map to find all of the airport’s current domestic and international non-stop flights.

More than 30 representatives from a broad list of businesses at MSP will be there to learn all about your interests and experience.

Opportunities include customer service agents and security; retail and restaurant positions including managers, baristas, servers and cooks; sales associates and cashiers. Baggage-handling positions are also available. Airport employers offer competitive pay and many provide benefits.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their resume and two forms of government-issued ID, as those will be necessary to have for on-the-spot hiring.

Transportation and Directions
Public transportation is a convenient way to get to the event.

Attendees can take either the Metro Blue Line or the Metro Transit Route 54 bus to Terminal 1 at MSP. The event is taking place in the building just through the doors nearest the bus stop.

From the Blue Line station, take the escalators up to Level T (Tram) and follow the signs to Silver Parking.

Drive and park: Drive to Terminal 1 and park in the Silver Ramp, Level 9. Take the escalator or elevators to Level 1, where you will find the Job Fair in the lobby. Parking will not be validated.

• MSP solar panels generated more than 4 million kilowatt-hours of energy, enough electricity to power 577 homes for one year.

• MSP concessionaires recovered 20 tons of food for donation to Loaves & Fishes, enough for 33,300 meals.

International travel is starting to rebound at MSP and a new foreign currency exchange provider is now in both terminals.

Currency Exchange International (CEI) recently opened its new home at Terminal 1 (pictured), located just inside the South Security Checkpoint across from Stone Arch restaurant and bar.

At Terminal 2, CEI also recently opened a service counter near Gate H5.
