Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) has once again earned top honors in the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program, which surveys customers at airports around the world.
ACI named MSP the Best Airport in North America in the 25-40 million passenger category for 2021, an honor shared with Salt Lake City International Airport. MSP was also named Best in North America for four straight years between 2016-2019.
“It’s especially gratifying that MSP was honored and recognized by travelers at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has created so many challenges in our industry and impacts to the travel experience,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which operates MSP. “To be ranked among the best airports in the world is a testament to an unfailing focus on customers by commissioners and staff, and by our airport partners — federal agencies, airlines, concessionaires, tenants, the Airport Foundation MSP, the Armed Forces Service Center, and many others in the MSP Airport community.”
The ASQ program scores airports based on customer surveys conducted at airports in 91 countries. Customers answer questions about 34 key performance indicators to measure their satisfaction with their airport experience.

Whether you’re heading to the mountains, beach or somewhere in-between, you can save a nice chunk of change by prebooking your parking online before you arrive. Parkers who prebook always save $2 per day over drive-up rates.
Throughout the month of March, those flying out of Terminal 1 with extended stays will see even bigger savings. Travelers will save $7 a day on daily parking at the Terminal 1 ramps from March 1 – March 31 when they book online and stay for seven days or more.
Prebooked parking is a great way to use your own vehicle and ensure a contact-free commute to the airport. A QR code that you’ll receive in your confirmation is all you need to enter and exit the ramp. And you can now download the QR code directly to your mobile wallet.
Save money, minimize touchpoints and travel with confidence by using Prebooked Parking for your airport parking needs.

Settebello, a restaurant featuring Neapolitan pizza and other Italian dishes, recently opened at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Terminal 1’s mall.
Offering sit-down dining, a full bar and a fast-and-efficient grab-and-go option, Settebello meets the needs of a traveler on any schedule.
Settebello bakes its 10-inch pizzas in a stone oven brought over from Italy. The oven was cured at MSP over a five-day period with progressively higher temperatures and is now baking pizzas at 800 degrees in about 90 seconds.
The light, airy Neapolitan-style pizza crusts come with a variety of topping options, including mozzarella cheese imported from Italy. The Bare N’Duja pizza features a light dripping of local honey produced in Minnesota. A gluten-free crust is also available. The Settebello menu is full of Italian deliciousness, with bruschetta, cheese boards and desserts including tiramisu.
“We know that time is of the essence for airport customers, and our oven keeps us on pace without compromising quality,” said Mark Rimkus, vice president of operations for The Grove, Inc., the concessionaire that brought Settebello to MSP. “We’re eager to serve MSP passengers.”
Local suppliers to Settebello include Red Table Meat Co., Red Bear Provisions, Red Barn Family Farms, Alemar Cheese and Ames Farm honey. Local beers available include Surly, Summit, Fair State, Fulton and Finnegan’s.
Settebello is open daily at MSP from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
There are more air travel options north of the border this summer. Air Canada recently announced a summer network expansion that includes a new route between Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
Air Canada will begin the daily, year-round route on June 2 using a 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft. This will be Air Canada’s second destination from MSP. It’s currently operating daily service to Toronto (YYZ).
Pre-pandemic, approximately 17,000 people traveled between MSP and Montreal annually. Air Canada operates out of Terminal 1's Concourse E.

Travelers and visitors at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) are hearing a new set of voices overhead as they move about through the terminals.
Ten MSP Airport employees were chosen for public address announcements for 2022-2023 after an open audition process for the annual Voices of MSP program. It’s a unique contest that puts a local spin on traditional airport security and operational public address announcements.
With Voices of MSP, airport employees are inspired to go beyond their daily duties for a chance to share their hidden or emerging voice talents. Those new voices are now featured in MSP’s terminal lobbies and concourses, at automated exits, inside airport trams, at baggage carousels, along moving walkways and elsewhere.
The selection process uncovered some employees who have done voice work previously, and others whose voices are making their public address debut.

The two COVID-19 vaccination sites at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport are now consolidated in a single pre-security location that is more accessible to the public. (Find directions and all the details on this webpage.)
The Minnesota Department of Health and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) have relocated the consolidated service at Terminal 1 to between the Blue and Red parking ramps, on Level 1.
Until recently, MSP provided two sites for the state’s vaccination program: post-security at Terminal 1 and pre-security at Terminal 2. The new more-centrally located vaccine clinic will continue to offer both the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines for those over the age of 18. Nearly 5,400 people were vaccinated at MSP in 2021.
The site is conveniently located one level below the state’s COVID-19 testing site that has served hundreds of thousands during the pandemic.
Those interested in receiving the free vaccinations or booster shots are encouraged to schedule an appointment. The site is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Spring break is here, and the month of March consistently marks one of MSP Airport's busiest times of the year.
Whatever travel plans you're considering, MSP Airport wants to hear from prospective travelers through a survey that gauges attitudes about and interest in air travel. The answers are helping shape the MSP travel experience as the pandemic becomes more manageable.
Even if you’ve already taken the survey, please consider taking it again, as your thoughts and answers may have changed over time. We also add new questions each month. This month, we're asking travelers what international destinations they'd like to see added at MSP with a direct flight.
Survey takers have shown interest in MSP's safety initiatives related to the pandemic, which are all a part of our Travel Confidently program, and the webpage will give you the details.
