The two COVID-19 vaccination sites at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport are now consolidated in a single pre-security location that is more accessible to the public.
The Minnesota Department of Health and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) have coordinated the relocation to Terminal 1 between the Blue and Red parking ramps, on Level 1. The site is conveniently located one level below the state’s COVID-19 testing site that has served thousands during the pandemic. Find directions and full information on this webpage.
MSP has provided two sites for the state’s vaccination program since June 2021: in Terminal 1 (post-security) and Terminal 2 (pre-security). Nearly 5,400 people were vaccinated at MSP in 2021. The new more-centrally located vaccine clinic will continue to offer both the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines for those over the age of 18.
Those interested in getting the free vaccinations or booster shots are encouraged to schedule an appointment. The site is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Airport Police Department at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is participating in Pathways to Policing, a program that provides a non-traditional path to a career in law enforcement.
The program seeks candidates with cultural competency skills and tools. Those with experience living or working with culturally diverse populations will be given preference. The goal is to more closely align police departments with the communities they serve.
Candidates must have a two or four-year degree from a regionally-accredited college in any field of study, but no prior law enforcement training or experience is required.
Those selected will earn pay and benefits while attending a full-time professional peace officer education program in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Visit this webpage for full information.
The six general aviation airports operated by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) saw their combined number of take-offs and landings increase by 8 percent in 2021 – an increase of 26,151 operations compared to 2020.
Flight training continues to be a steady source of operations at the six airports, also known as "reliever airports" because of the additional capacity they offer to private aircraft beyond MSP International Airport. Airlines are also continuing to fill vacancies due to pilot retirements and adding pilots after the pandemic lows.
Private business flights and leisure travel also contributed to traffic at the relievers, which saw operations in 2021 totaling 352,195.
The MAC’s reliever airport system generates an estimated $756 million a year for the area economy and supports more than 3,600 jobs. A comprehensive recap of their 2021 performance, and data on the flight activity, is available.
Are you in the mood to watch some snow fly?
MSP Airport regularly has one of the best on-time flight performance records of any U.S. airport -- a notable distinction considering our winter weather. The Field Maintenance Department of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is a key piece of that accomplishment, and it's a team effort with the airlines, the FAA and the MAC's Airside Operations Department to coordinate all the snow removal operations.
The flurry-filled video available here (run time 3:46) provides a quick, comprehensive look at how the team at MSP manages to clear runways efficiently, even as the snow continues falling.
Spring break is right around the corner and is consistently one of MSP Airport's busiest times of the year.
Whatever travel plans you're considering, MSP Airport wants to hear from prospective travelers via a survey that gauges attitudes about and interest in air travel. The answers are helping shape the MSP travel experience as the COVID-19 era becomes more manageable.
Even if you’ve already taken the survey, please consider taking it again, as your thoughts and answers may have changed over time. We also add new questions each month. This month we want to hear about your ideal Spring Break destination.
Survey takers have shown interest in MSP's safety initiatives related to the pandemic, which are all a part of our Travel Confidently program, and the webpage will give you the details.
