As passenger numbers continue to tick up at MSP Airport, many companies are now actively recruiting employees. The airport anticipates a minimum of several hundred new employees to seek badging appointments over the next several weeks. This is a positive trend for all involved, and it could have an impact on scheduling appointments.
Over the last year, it’s been relatively easy to book a same-day Badging Office appointment, or a day or two into the future. However, those short turnaround times are coming to an end, so we’re asking Signers to communicate that to your employees.
Signers are also encouraged to keep tabs on existing employee badge expiration dates and plan ahead for renewal appointments.
For all employees, whether a new hire or an existing employee renewing their badge, the Badging Office encourages people to be proactive by booking appointments ahead of time online and not relying on the walk-in queue.
We appreciate your assistance as the airport transitions into a new phase of recovery from the pandemic.
Please keep an eye on your email inbox for the “Comprehensive Badge Audit” that you'll need to complete. You can also look in your junk email, just to be safe. Instructions on how to complete the audit are included in the email.
The email is coming to you from this address: badgeaudits@mspmac.org
That dedicated email address is new this year.
The requests for the audits are going out in batches, and the audits are due two weeks from the date they are received. The badge audit is a requirement of the TSA and a response is mandatory.
We appreciate your assistance with this process.
