Fostering Independence Grants Need Funding in the House!
-
The Fostering Independence Grants (FIG) program is an effective way to support Fosters in attending and completing college. FIG is at risk of a budget shortfall that would leave 45% of eligible Fosters unable to access crucial college financial aid funding.
-
The Senate Higher Education committee has increased the base appropriation to meet the gap in need, but the House Higher Education Finance and Policy committee has not.
-
We need the House to increase the Fostering Independence Grants base appropriation to ensure Fosters can successfully continue on their higher education pathways.
-
Attend the House Higher Education Finance and Policy committee hearing to show your support for Fosters and the necessity of funding the Fostering Independence Grants.

When: Monday, April 21st – 3pm
