OOFY will be at the Capitol this week!
In addition to our Foster Bill of Rights (which we expect will be introduced very soon) we are working to advance HF2009 / SF1547.
If you are want to learn about our bill, or support us in this request, we will be testifying:
In summary, this bill would support OOFY’s ability to conduct proactive outreach to foster youth, including meeting foster youth in-person in the various places they may be living— family foster homes, group homes, residential and out-of-state facilities.
OOFY is unique as a state agency, in that we are here to serve children and youth in foster care, and we want to ensure that foster youth understand their rights and how they can get support for concerns they may have.
We will be sure to share our testimony and ways to support after the hearings.
Big thank you to the following legislators, who are moving this work forward!
