OOFY has been working with University of St. Thomas School of Law and Foster Advocates to draft a Bill of Rights for Minnesota Foster Youth. (For more background, see the Imprint article published in July.) In December, OOFY will have two opportunities to learn about this project. After attending one of the sessions, we invite you to provide written feedback and perspective. We will be holding a separate presentation for those with experience in foster care.

Temporary Roles at OOFY
OOFY is seeking two Foster Youth Outreach and Engagement Specialists. Please note that these positions are temporary and expected to end on or before June 30, 2025.
These positions exist to lead and coordinate community engagement and outreach activities for the Office of the Foster Youth Ombudsperson. The incumbents will conduct outreach to foster youth by meeting with facilities (both virtually and in-person) and building collaborative relationships with facility and program staff. These positions will collect and analyze data on systemic issues and conduct foster care policy analysis and research. They will lead communication activities, contributing to reporting and recommendations as needed and supporting the development of strategic messaging.
