Guidance Memo 25-03: Hemp product transition authorized activities and license issuance timelines

This message has been sent to businesses selling hemp-derived cannabinoid products and parties interested in hemp products in Minnesota. 

In order to facilitate the best transition possible under the current statutory framework, and in direct response to the issues raised through our engagement with members of the hemp industry, today the office issued Guidance Memo 25-03 which addresses the timelines for issuing hemp licenses and provides clarity on the previously announced product transition period. The decisions outlined in the memo provide hemp manufactures and wholesalers with additional time to prepare for the transition to chapter 342 and create pathways for existing products to remain on retail shelves without compromising the public’s health and safety or compliance with statute.
