Reminder: There’s still time to complete OCM's initial rulemaking survey
As part of the first phase of engagement for rulemaking, the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is gathering input on a variety of topics as it begins drafting rules. OCM wants to ensure the rulemaking process is accessible to the widest possible range of community members, advocates, and partners who want to help shape how rules are drafted.
Let us know what you think!
There’s still time to complete the initial survey, which covers cannabis cultivation, processing, and manufacturing. These topics reflect how we want to thoughtfully launch a safe, new legal market and help ensure the state has an adequate supply to meet demand once the market opens. The deadline to provide input for the first survey is Nov. 30.
If you’re already submitted your input, thank you! As of Nov. 27, OCM has received more than 500 responses.
More opportunities to provide your input
Watch for more opportunities to provide input through surveys planned in the coming weeks:
-
Available Dec. 1-14, 2023: Testing (laboratory approval, sampling, protocols, and standards); environmental controls (water, energy, waste, and odor); and use of pesticides and fertilizers
-
Available Dec. 15-28, 2023: Retail business operations; retail sanitary standards (facilities and handling); and expedited complaint process for local governments
-
Available Dec. 29, 2023-Jan. 12, 2024: Packaging and labeling; and integrated cannabis tracking, inventory, and verification system
-
Available Jan. 13, 2024-Jan. 26, 2024: Licensing; and social equity considerations
Highlights from the surveys will be shared and future steps in the rulemaking process will be announced on the OCM website.
