API Day at the Capitol Rally 2026
Save the date for this year’s Asian and Pacific Islander Day at the Capitol Rally on Monday, April 20 in the Rotunda of the Minnesota State Capitol!
The Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (CAPM) will host this event, which include a diverse group of community and legislative speakers, as well as community resources.

African Heritage Day on the Hill 2026
Join the Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage (CMAH) for African Heritage Day on the Hill! This event will include a session for youth and will conclude with a reception. This event was rescheduled from February.

CMAH Lunch and Go Information Sessions
Join the Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage for weekly Lunch and Go information sessions! These sessions will happen every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm.
These sessions are a great opportunity to check in with the Council on any bills that they are either supporting or opposing. The Council greatly values your input and hopes to see you there.

Justice and Liberation Individual Support Fund
Headwaters and Black Visions have teamed up to create the Justice & Liberation Individual Support Fund, a partnership to directly distribute funds to Minnesota's Black community.
This program will distribute $500,000 directly to Black Minnesotans experiencing economic hardship through one-time grants. Any Black person over the age of 18 living in Minnesota is eligible to apply.
Applications open on Monday, April 6, and are open through April 30. Learn more and apply for a grant online.
Urban League Twin Cities Know Your Rights Training
Urban League Twin Cities is hosting a Know Your Rights workshop in Minneapolis. Join a free lunch and training on knowing your rights if you're pulled over by police, visited by immigration enforcement, served an eviction notice, and more.

Minnesota State Suicide Prevention Plan Focus Groups
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Unit is collaborating with the Minnesota Suicide Prevention Taskforce to facilitate focus groups to help shape the next Minnesota State Suicide Prevention Plan.

Applications for the 2026-2027 University of Minnesota Humphrey Policy Fellows Program are now open!
The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance (CSPG) offers programs related to public policy and civic life, including the Policy Fellows Program. This program is for mid-career leaders in government, nonprofit work, and business who are looking to expand their skills and work across their differences to better Minnesota. By developing skills of working through public policy, alumni of this program have found ways to make Minnesota stronger through civic engagement.

April Foster Care Community of Practice
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) presents the April Foster Care Community of Practice, featuring the YMCA of San Diego presenting the CAAVE framework: Compassion, Awareness, Acceptance, Validation, and Empowerment. This human-centered approach helps staff manage stress while supporting the people they work with.
