|
Transfer Update
The Implementation Office is preparing for two final rounds of transfers to DCYF in June 2025 during the transition year.
-
Remaining proportional positions from Finance, Compliance, and Management Services from DHS.
-
Office of Inspector General Licensing, Program Integrity, and Operations functions from DHS.
-
Office of Restorative Practices and Youth Justice Office from the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
 Intergovernmental Advisory Committee Update
The Implementation Office is partnering with DCYF’s County Relations and Tribal Relations offices, along with counties and Tribes, on the co-development of an ongoing intergovernmental advisory committee (IAC).
The IAC is established in statute and will provide advice and recommendations to the DCYF Commissioner on the planning, design, administration, funding, and evaluation of services to children, youth, and families. DCYF is engaging with Tribal Nations directly and with counties through the Association of MN Counties (AMC) and the MN Association of County Social Services Administrators (MACSSA) to establish the IAC structure and processes, with the expectation that the initial IAC will meet in the fall.
Strategic Planning Update
The DCYF Strategic Plan is being finalized by the Implementation Office, Children’s Cabinet, and DCYF, in partnership with Wilder Research. More than 40 community members and 150 staff responded to a feedback survey for this final stage. The vast majority of respondents saw their work or their communities represented in the draft strategic priorities and goals. Drafting, review and editing continues between Wilder Research and the project team, and the plan will be complete and posted after June 30, 2025.
