Women Changemakers ERG

Letter from the Chair

Fellow ERG members,

Rebranding is approved!

Women IT ChangeMakers > Women ChangeMakers.

MMB approved the rebranding of the ERG.

Rebranding the ERG gives us the opportunity to have all women feel comfortable to be at the table, not just IT career staff.

When it comes to inclusion, we have to be intentional as leaders. We have valuable opportunities to share our experiences and our perspective and we wish to be inclusive of all women in State service, to engage and hear everyones stories and experiences.

See our new Mission Statement on the ERG Website.

Application Portfolio Manager, MNIT Services

Interfaith Five-Part Series Panelist Discussion

The Equity and Justice Black Caucus ERG is hosting the Interfaith Five-Part Series. Faith and spirituality are an integral part of people’s lives. It doesn’t matter the religion, faith, or non-religion, and non-faith. It’s a disservice to ask someone to set aside a piece of themselves in the workplace, just as it is impossible for someone to set aside their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and more from the workplace. This is intersectionality. You are more than just your race.

All virtual sessions 11am to 12:30pm
May 10, 24, June 7, 21, and July 19, 2023

Disability Justice, A Framework for Liberation

Tuesday May 16th, 1 – 2:30 pm

Disability Justice is a framework for liberation that was started by Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Queer folks with disabilities. Disability Justice centers the voices of those most marginalized in the fight to end ableism and all forms of oppression.

The Minnesota Employees with Disabilities ERG is proud to welcome Disability Justice leader, Brittanie Wilson, from The Arc Minnesota. During this session, Brittanie will:

  • Define ableism and explain its ties to all forms of oppression
  • Review the Disability Justice framework is, how it began, and why it is the future, and
  • Explore how the framework of Disability Justice is different from the  disability rights movement.
