For users of the Appropriation Maintenance Application (AMA) and Budget Planning and Analysis System (BPAS).
For a step-by-step guide and live demonstration of the new AMA Recall feature, check out the new Recalling a Transaction instructional video on the MMB Website. The AMA Recall feature was added in May, and to date, users have recalled more than 70 AMA transactions.
The Budget Planning and Analysis System (BPAS) and the Departmental Earnings System (DE) are scheduled to open for agencies on August 23 to begin preparation of their 2024-25 budgets.
Budget Operations offers a variety of learning options for users of BPAS, CBS, DE, AMA, and SharePoint including written guides, instructional videos, webinars, one-on-one-training, and workshops. Training will be available throughout the next several months and we will continue to release new and updated content as it is developed.
If you are new to the biennial budget process or looking for a refresher, we recommend the Overview of the Biennial Budget Process instructional video. This 10-minute video is designed to give users a high-level understanding of the budget process and agency deliverables.
Virtual training for BPAS will be available starting in mid-July and will include webinars and workshops. Users will also have the option to sign up for one-on-one training.
Additional instructional materials and videos are available on the MMB Budget Planning and Analysis website. Users can view the videos and learn at their own pace. Stay tuned to the newsletter for additional learning opportunities.
Agency budget coordinators or directors received budget system user verification forms in early June. For users to have the system access they need and receive training opportunity notifications, we ask that certification forms be returned as soon as possible. If you are an agency budget coordinator or director and did not receive an email, contact budget.finance.mmb@state.mn.us to request your agency user certification form.
One of the BPAS enhancements for the 2024-25 Biennial Budget cycle is a new standard report. The Combined Transfers Standard Report will be available to download in either Excel or CSV format and, per its name, combines Transfers In and Transfers Out into one report. Agency Users can run the Combined Transfers Standard Report for their agency and the option to run this report for all agencies will be available to the EBO and Legislative User roles. Stay tuned for information regarding additional BPAS enhancements and updates.
