State Leader Spotlight

David O. Milton, Chief Executive Officer
Minnesota Department of Corrections

David Milton was named Chief Executive Officer of MINNCOR Industries, a division of the Department of Corrections in January 2016.  Milton came to MINNCOR after serving in leadership positions at Minnesota nonprofits, and following a successful 30 year career spanning several multinational corporations.

MINNCOR Industries is a self-funded, state-owned social enterprise delivering work skills training and job search support for citizens releasing from prison.

David is originally from Chicago and currently serves on the board of Mastery Charter Schools and Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, and has taught graduate-level courses at Augsburg College, St. Mary’s, and Metropolitan State Universities.  He holds a CPA certification from the State of Illinois and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He also has earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DePaul University.

A message from David: I am so inspired by the capability and passion of every member of every team that supports our mission. It is such an honor to be able to work at the intersection of public, private and nonprofit strategies that promote the creation of social capital. Together, we can measurably reduce recidivism and create sustainable contributors that will strengthen Minnesota communities.

MINNCOR Upcoming Event: On September 14, 2016 MINNCOR is having an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate their 10th anniversary! The open house will take place at their new Roseville office.
