State Leader Spotlight
David O. Milton, Chief Executive Officer Minnesota Department of Corrections
David Milton was named Chief Executive Officer of
MINNCOR Industries, a division of the Department of Corrections in January 2016. Milton came to MINNCOR after serving in leadership positions at Minnesota
nonprofits, and following a successful 30 year career spanning several
multinational corporations.
MINNCOR
Industries is a self-funded, state-owned social enterprise delivering work
skills training and job search support for citizens releasing from prison.
David is originally from Chicago and currently serves on the board of Mastery
Charter Schools and Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, and has taught
graduate-level courses at Augsburg College,
St. Mary’s, and Metropolitan State Universities. He holds a CPA certification from the State
of Illinois and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He also has earned a Masters of
Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of
Science in Accounting from DePaul University.

I am so inspired by the capability and passion of every
member of every team that supports our mission. It is such an honor to be able
to work at the intersection of public, private and nonprofit strategies that
promote the creation of social capital. Together, we can measurably reduce
recidivism and create sustainable contributors that will strengthen Minnesota
communities.
MINNCOR Upcoming Event: On September 14, 2016 MINNCOR is having an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate their 10th anniversary! The open house will take place at their new Roseville office.

will provide focus and leadership to help workers and businesses find

Apply to serve on a State Board or Commission
Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC)
The Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC) was created in 1987 by
the Minnesota State Legislature to promote the economic and social
benefits of sports.
Minnesota State Council on Disability (MSCOD)
The Minnesota State Council on Disability (MSCOD) is an agency that collaborates, advocates, advises and provides information
to expand opportunities, increase the quality of life and empower all
persons with disabilities.
Economic Status of Women, Legislative Commission
The commission advises the Legislature and provides basic information and statistics on women in Minnesota.
Minnesota Statewide Independent Living Council
The council provides statewide planning and policies necessary to provide independent living services.
Private Detective and Protective Agent Services Board
The board reviews applications for private detective/investigators and
protective agents (security). The board determines whether statutory
requirements have been met and subsequently renders a decision to grant
or deny licensing.

Mee Moua was the first
Hmong American woman elected to a State Legislature in Minnesota and in the United States
Mee Moua immigrated to the United States in 1978. She
attended Brown University as an undergraduate, earned a master’s degree in
public affairs from the University of Texas-Austin, and a law degree from the
University of Minnesota. In January 2002, Moua was elected to the
82nd State Legislature representing the Democratic Farmer Labor (DFL) Party.
Currently, she is the President and Executive Director of Asian Americans
Advancing Justice (AAJC), a leading national nonprofit organization that works
to advance the human and civil rights of Asian Americans and build and promote
a fair and equitable society for all.
