Saturday is the annual Spring Special Community Drop-off Day at Public Works. This event gives residents an opportunity to get a head start on their spring cleaning by disposing common household junk.
The basics
Here are some pro-tips from seasoned Special Drop users
-
"Come later in the day"- There's usually a huge line-up right away in the morning, but the crowds tend to be smaller in the afternoon. If you want to get in and out without too long of a wait, consider coming later in the day.
-
"Make sure your stuff is secured"- There's nothing worse than realizing you've lost your couch on the highway! Strap in those objects tight before making your way over.
-
"Don't throw it. Donate it!"- Better Futures Minnesota will be on site collecting used lumber, building supplies and more. Donation space is limited, and Better Futures reserves the right to refuse unusable materials.
-
"Have your license ready"- This event is for Minnetonka residents, so proof of residency is a must.
