The Minnetonka Police Department responded to a serious injury accident this afternoon involving a garbage truck and a passenger vehicle.

The accident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Plymouth Road at Arthur Street, north of Interstate 394. Officers arrived to find a garbage truck had rolled on its side. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the North Memorial Health Hospital with serious injuries. The garbage truck driver had minor injuries that did not require transport.

The investigation is ongoing. Plymouth Road remains closed at this time.
