A message from Mayor Wiersum
Dear Minnetonka residents,
Though summer feels a little different this year, it is great that our favorite season has officially arrived. The “Stay Safe MN Phase III” plan allows us to do many of the summer activities we all enjoy.
Along with the loosening of restrictions, the city has opened several facilities and is now offering in-person appointments for many city services. Visit the city’s website to learn more.
COVID-19 – and our response to it – is far from over. Minnesota appears to be in a reasonably good place, though our recent improvements have leveled off. Nationally, the news is not as good as cases reach record highs. It is as important as ever for each of us to do everything we can to limit the spread of this deadly virus.
Please continue to follow CDC guidelines and socially distance to protect yourself and others. It is the kind, respectful, considerate and right thing to do. No one enjoys wearing a mask, but wearing them – particularly indoors – protects yourself and others, especially those at high risk. Please be considerate to others. It does matter.
Personally, I’ve continued to limit in-person interactions, and I very much miss conversations with colleagues, friends, family, neighbors and residents. It’s important for each of us to adapt to changing conditions in a way that’s safe and comfortable for ourselves, our families and others.
While 2020 is far from typical, let’s focus on what we can do, instead of what we can’t. Enjoy this spectacular time of year in Minnetonka. Get outside and enjoy our city’s unique natural beauty.
Be safe, be kind and be well. You’re in my continued thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
