Get ready for some frozen fun!
With a new year comes new programs, new events, and new opportunities for residents of Mendota Heights to connect with one another! Join us February 4-6 for our first ever Mendota Heights Frozen Fun Fest. Exciting free events will be taking place throughout the weekend to celebrate all that Mendota Heights Parks have to offer in the winter! Preview the lineup at mendotaheightsmn.gov/frozen-fun-fest. While events are free, youth ice fishing demos and the family kickball tournament require registration; space is limited so register early if you'd like to participate in those events.
Coloring contest underway
Coloring contest entries are being accepted at City Hall. The contest is open to residents of all ages and participants will be entered into a door-prize drawing. Download and print from the links below or pick up a sheet at City Hall. Return entries to City Hall during business hours or drop them off in the outside sewer payment box in the turnaround. All entries are due by 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb 4. Good luck and happy coloring!

Medallion Hunt kicks off Thursday, Feb 3
Watch for the first clue to be released at 8 a.m. this Thursday on the City's website and Facebook channels. Please review the Medallion Hunt rules prior to searching, and be sure to immediately report if you find the medallion as a courtesy to all participants.
Mendota Heights Police Department Completes ABLE Training
On Town Square Televisions's Insight 7, learn about the Mendota Heights Police Department's Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE) training that they recently completed. Officers Randall and Powell explain and demonstrate the program that provides tools to law enforcement on preventing misconduct, reducing mistakes, and promoting officer health and wellness. Join the Mendota Heights Police Department for a fun day of recreational hockey skills and games. Participants will team up with police officers for 3-on-3 hockey games. This is free event; registration is required. Registration is open up until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 29.

Mendota Heights residents are encouraged to take part in a short survey to provide feedback on city communications. The survey takes about three minutes to complete via Polco. Residents who do not already have a Polco account will be prompted to set up a free account. Accounts are required to help verify that a participant is a resident and it ensures that only one response is allowed per verified user.

 Par 3 Community Golf Course
Summer Seasonal Clubhouse Workers
The City of Mendota Heights Par 3 Golf Course is seeking fun and energetic individuals for the position of Par 3 Clubhouse Worker. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply.
The position is responsible for clubhouse operations including collecting greens fees, answering phone calls and taking reservations, selling concessions and renting equipment. The position is also responsible for opening and closing the golf course clubhouse and for performing daily light maintenance of the clubhouse and grounds.

- Minnesota families who get their child 5-11 years old fully vaccinated in January and February can get a $200 Visa gift card. Parents/Guardians can register their 5- to 11-year-old once they have completed their two-dose series. Learn more.

 Dakota County Soil & Water Conservation District Tree Sale
The Dakota SWCD’s Tree Sale provides the opportunity for landowners to purchase high quality bare root seedlings at a low cost for urban and rural conservation purposes, such as windbreaks, reforestation, erosion control, and food and cover for wildlife.
The trees for sale are native to Minnesota, including conifers, hardwoods, small trees, and shrubs. The trees and shrubs are sold in bundles for larger planting areas. Learn more and order at dakotaswcd.org/2022-tree-sale.

Landscaping for Clean Water registration is open
Do you want to learn how to incorporate native plants into your garden that support water quality and pollinator habitat? The Landscaping for Clean Water Program is ready for their 2022 season to help residents design and install raingardens, native pollinator gardens, and shoreline stabilization plantings.
This year’s suite of programming - Introduction to Clean Water Class, Design Course, and Maintenance Workshop – will provide skills and resources to landowners at every stage of their gardening journey.

Athletic field and facility permit use requests
Due Feb 1 for use March through July 2022
Permit requests to use City athletic fields and facilities from March through July 2022 are due Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Reservations after the deadline will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Information and applications forms are available at mendotaheightsmn.gov/parksrecreation.
Ice rinks/warming houses are open

Youth and families are invited to join us the first Thursday of every month at local spots in Mendota Heights and West St. Paul. Staff will set up activities and provide equipment for youth and families to enjoy. There will be games, sports, crafts, and more! This is a drop-in program -- no registration required.
