Free Health Impact Assessment Training

Wednesday, December 18

9:00AM – 4:00PM, Registration starting at 8:30AM, Lunch provided

This HIA training from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will provide an introduction to the 6 steps of HIA (Screening, Scoping, Assessment, Recommendations, Reporting, Evaluation and Monitoring), with a particular focus on Stakeholder Engagement and Scoping. Instruction will include in-class exercises to gain hands-on experience performing an HIA.

Training is free and lunch will be provided, but space is limited to 40 people and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Attendees will be required to read background materials before the training (about 2 hours of time). Training is open to all persons interested in using HIA to promote health in policies, comprehensive plans and projects, including HIA practitioners, steering committee members, and stakeholders.
