Updated MOM Policy Section 7.5: WIC formulas
Section 7.5: WIC Formulas (PDF) policy has been updated with the bulk of the updates in Section 7.5.5: Contract/Medical Formula Returned, Unused, or Expired and 7.5.6: Tracking Formula Ordered Through the State WIC Office.
The updates to Section 7.5.5: Contract/Medical Formula Returned, Unused, or Expired adds additional accountability requirements. There now needs to be initials and signatures. These must be captured in a tracking form. Exhibit 7-I: Tracking Log for Contract/Medical Formulas Returned, Disposed, or Donated (PDF) has been updated to help you meet this requirement.
Section 7.5.6: Tracking Formula Ordered Through the State WIC Office is a new policy providing clarity and direction around formulas ordered through the State. All formula ordered through the State must be tracked, to facilitate this we have modified Exhibit 7-L: Tracking Log for Formula Ordered Through the State WIC Office (WORD).

Breastfeeding Resource
Did you know that wichealth.org has a quick share resource library on breastfeeding and other topics you can share with participants?
The wichealth.org Resource Library includes short videos, articles, and infographics you can share or text to participants. You can select from the ‘quick share’ list of categories or use the ‘advanced search’ option to explore.
A quick click on the Breastfeeding tab brings you to resources such as breastfeeding challenges and rights, latching, hand expression, pumping tips and tools, hunger and fullness cues, making enough milk, and more!
Access this valuable resource today and discover which tool may support the participants you see throughout the day.
Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.
Refer to WIC Annual Required Trainings for staff training requirements.
Pausing Lessons in WIC Case Studies
As we prepare for the 2027 WIC conference and work on other projects next year, we will pause the monthly case study sessions starting in January. These have been so fun to create, and we have really enjoyed the engagement that has transpired. Know that we will provide many other opportunities for learning next year.
There are still more chances to join for the current topics. Head over to our Lessons in WIC: Case Studies webpage for training dates and to review past case study materials. Hope to see you at one of the sessions yet this year!
