MN WIC App message – juice options
We will send the following app message to all participants registered in the MN WIC app on Tuesday, July 7.
Subject: Juice options
Message: You can choose juice as a WIC benefit or an additional $3 in fruits and vegetables instead of juice. Tell your WIC clinic if you want to change what you’re getting. If juice is listed in your benefits, you can get one 64 oz refrigerated orange juice or shelf stable juice, OR one 12 oz frozen juice (makes 48 oz). Use your MN WIC App to check your food benefits and scan items while you shop.

Medical assistance and SNAP texts Monday, August 3
Minnesota WIC sends quarterly text messages promoting the program to Medical Assistance (MA) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients, who qualify for WIC.
Reminders:
WIC uses lists of new MA and SNAP recipients who are younger than 5, are pregnant or are 6 months postpartum for the text outreach efforts. We carefully review the data to make sure outreach texts go to potential WIC participants, not current participants.
- The texts are sent to recipients over five weeks.
- The texts are available in English, Spanish, and Somali.
- There will be two versions of the MA text message, one tailored for pregnant MA enrollees and one for all other MA enrollees. There will be one version of the SNAP text message.

MN WIC Information System policy updates
Hardware: policies now indicate that local agencies are responsible for providing their own hardware. The State will no longer supply hardware.
Cybersecurity: Section 9.4: Network, Browser, and User Access Security (PDF) now includes procedures for reporting and responding to cybersecurity incidents. Security Training Module 1 (Security Training 1 script (PDF)) outlines best practices.

Note: Section 9.5: Equipment Inventory has been removed.
Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.
