Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) and Education
Trauma Program 101 Course offered in October
Trauma Program 101 will be held Thursday, October 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital. Please visit Trauma Program 101 Registration to sign up.
All trauma program leaders (trauma program managers/coordinators, trauma medical directors/co-medical directors, CEO/administrators) of Level 3 and Level 4 trauma hospitals are encouraged to attend. Nursing CEUs will be offered.
Highlights of the course include:
- Overview of the state trauma system
- Understand the designation criteria as a framework of the trauma program
- Learn basic trauma performance improvement (PI) concepts
- Access educational and networking opportunities for continuous growth of your trauma program
Coffee with the Coordinators
Connect with the trauma designation coordinators in an open forum to ask questions and engage in discussion about any issues related to trauma hospital designation. These sessions are offered from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on the following dates:

Quarterly MDH Trauma Data Quality Reports
Reports will be sent out to designated trauma hospitals during July and the first part of August. This initiative will provide hospitals with regular feedback from the Minnesota trauma registry. These quarterly reports include information about the hospital, along with comparative aggregate data from same level trauma hospitals, the trauma region, and Minnesota averages. The goal is to provide practical, timely feedback to support the hospital's performance improvement efforts. MDH will hold Q & A Sessions to answer and clarify questions that hospitals may have.
Q & A Sessions will be held virtually from 1 - 2 p.m.
