Submitting UPCs in the WIC App
If a participant finds a food item they think should be WIC approved, they can submit it through the WIC app for review.
To find the submit option, they should scan or enter the UPC. If the item shows as not allowed, they will see the option to submit it for review.
To submit a UPC, they must upload clear photographs of:
- The UPC barcode
- The nutrition label
- The front of the package
NOTE: All three photographs are required for the item to be considered.
Registered agency staff can also submit UPCs using this same option. Encourage participants to use the app to help add new eligible foods!

Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.
Refer to WIC Annual Required Trainings for staff training requirements.
