Potential WIC phone call scam
We received a report from a local agency that a participant was contacted via phone by a person stating they were from WIC and asking if the participant wanted a $100 gift card.
If there is any question about a message received, participants should always first call their local agency to confirm whether a message is legitimate.
WIC does not send text messages to WIC participants to provide gift cards or any other incentive.
