Reminder: WIC foods and shopping experience training
The next WIC Foods and Shopping Experience Training webinar will be offered on October 30 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. One CPEU will be awarded for taking this training. This session WILL NOT be recorded. Erin Kelsey from the Vendor Team, and Mary Frances Guiney from the Nutrition Team will be the presenters.

In-person Certified Lactation Specialist course available in Bemidji
Beltrami County Public Health is offering limited spaces in their Certified Lactation Specialist training December 8-12. Training will be held from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. each day at the Bemidji Law Enforcement Center, 613 Minnesota Ave NW Bemidji, MN 56601. Register for the Bemidji Certified Lactation Specialist course.
 Have you ever taken a call from a participant about something that happened at the store when they were shopping? If so, you can point them to this helpful tool, Help with Common Checkout Issues, so they know what they need to do to report an issue. If after talking with them, you determine that you need to call the helpdesk, use the WIC Transaction Troubleshooting Guide to help troubleshoot next steps.
You can also point participants to the WIC Shopping Help webpage for more tips and tools to support them in purchasing their WIC foods. There are ten WIC Shopping Videos in multiple languages that families can view on-demand either from the webpage or from the Minnesota WIC App!
Local agency staff should talk to their supervisor for approval before registering for training.

2025 monthly champions calls
Our next participant-centered services (PCS) Champions Call is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14. We have updated the format of the calls to be more content rich. The monthly call will begin with a presentation by the facilitator, Bernadette Flores, before moving on to discussion, participation and sharing.

Calls are held on the second Tuesday of every month. No registration required.
NOTE: The Nov. Champions call will be held one week later on Tuesday, Nov. 18, due to the Veteran’s Day holiday.
