13th Annual Duke-UNC Sickle Cell Disease Conference
Duke University School of Nursing and UNC School of Medicine Blood Research Center are hosting their 13th annual sickle cell disease conference: Thriving with Sickle Cell Disease: A Life Span Approach. Topics include new therapies, transition from pediatric to adult care, caring for older adults, symptom management, advocacy, and setting priorities for sickle cell disease in North Carolina.

2025 Cayenne Wellness SCD Educational Summit
The Cayenne Wellness Center’s Annual Sickle Cell Disease Educational Summit is a four-day event dedicated to increasing awareness and education about sickle cell disease and trait. Designed for health care professionals, educators, social workers, students, individuals with sickle cell disease, families, and the broader community, this summit features lectures, discussions, and insights into current and future treatment approaches to enhance understanding and improve care.

2025 Sickle Cell in Focus Conference
Join virtually to learn, connect, and raise awareness about sickle cell disease! This conference will highlight challenges in sickle cell care transition, complications and treatments, AI applications, data sharing in the SCD community, repurposing drugs for treating sickle cell disease, and more. It will be co-hosted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and The University of West Indies (UWI).

The 53rd SCDAA Annual National Convention
Sickle Cell Disease Association of America’s Annual National Convention will be held on Oct. 15-18 at the Loews-Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois! This convention fosters the exchange of the latest scientific and clinical information through innovative training seminars and educational workshops, interactive panel discussion, advocacy lectures and special events. This year’s theme is “EMPOWERMENT: Forging Ahead with Strength and Courage.”
